Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
In association with BSOLAR we now also offer the design, supply and fit of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems.
BSOLAR is the ethical Solar Photovoltaics installation company formed to advise on and provide Solar PV solutions. BSOLAR do not undertake high-pressure sales but merely provide good advice. We provide a quick response offering a no-pressure discussion with advice on energy saving measures which may include not to install PV.
Installing solar PV panels at your home can be more profitable than investing in the stock-market and it is a lower risk!
You will earn 43.3p per unit of electricity produced whether you use or export it, this is guaranteed for 25 years by the government and paid by the utility company.
For each unit of electricity exported to the grid earn a further 3.1p per unit.
By using the free electricity you generate you will save money on your electricity bills.
As a result of the above, you can expect around £1000 extra in your pocket every year
This means that typical returns on investment are 10% which is better than a cash ISA.
Your income from solar energy is tax free and index-linked.
The actual returns expected will be calculated for your property and the proposed system.
The best, most economically advantageous and most universally suitable single investment in the renewable field today is Solar PVs for homes and businesses.
Not only that but Solar PV is long-lasting, low-maintenance and truly environmentally friendly.
BSolar for your Home
Solar panels have a short payback and will continue to generate solar electricity for you for 25+ years.
They will immediately increase the value of your home!
BSolar Site surveys are undertaken by qualified energy assessment consultants.' Site Surveys are free and all installation is undertaken by trained, qualified, accredited installers.
Planning consent isn't normally required for photovoltaic solar panels and they can be installed in less than a week with little or no disruption to your household.
The Feed-In-Tariff (Clean Energy Cashback) was introduced on 1st of April 2010 by new Government legislation. Under this scheme the power companies (by Government enforcement) make regular payments to householders and communities that generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar PV and wind turbines. These payments are guaranteed to be paid to you for 25 years.
You will be paid to generate your own solar electricity. Landlords can also benefit, you get the FIT, the tenants get to use the electricity generated which means lower electricity bills
Commercial Installations
Feed In Tariffs also apply to commercial installations and with larger roofs come larger rewards. Clean Energy Cashback is available to landlords, farmers and company building owners.
Economies of scale on larger installations mean a greater profit.
Use all of the power you generate to reduce the electricity bill.
Add value to your property, increase the rent payable as the electricity bill reduces.
It may also be possible to offset the cost of the PV installation, by up to £25,000, against tax via the Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme.
Solar Hot Water
For over 20 years Solar Panels has meant the use of panels on your roof to supplementing the heating of water for your home. These are relatively inefficient devices which generally do not heat the water to a sufficiently high temperature and perform poorly for four months of the year. OFGEN estimate that they typically provide 30% of the hot water requirements of a home thereby reducing the average gas bill by approximately 12%. The payback period for solar thermal systems is typically in excess of 40 years.
BSOLAR do not provide solar thermal systems because of the long payback period.
BSOLAR do, however, provide a solar hot water solution. Through the installation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels and an energy management device, hot water will be provided to your existing hot water cylinder via the immersion heater. When tested this solution is typically 3 to 4 times as efficient as solar thermal systems.
Your solar PV or other micro-generator system will often generate more electricity than you are using, especially if you are out of the home at peak daylight intensity hours. Without an energy management device, this surplus energy is automatically exported to the grid for little or no reward. At other times, you will be importing energy from the grid. Energy losses occur during the "double handing" of export and import, making this an inefficient and therefore emissions unfriendly process. Efficient energy management will prevent double-handling by maximising the onsite usage of locally produced energy. It does this by monitoring and comparing, in real-time, energy generation with energy consumption and directing all of your surplus energy to local energy storage devices - hot water cylinders, storage heaters, heat pumps, electric vehicles etc.. If no electricity is exported, you maximise the energy and emissions savings from your solar PV system.
The installation of an energy management device costs 1/3 of the price of a typical solar thermal installation. It has no moving parts and requires no maintenance. Installation is clean and quick. All of the financial benefits of installing solar PV are retained, in fact they are maximised through this approach as you are effectively paid to heat your own water.
